St Peter's School is set in the beautiful village of Alton, close to St Peter's Parish Church.

Parents are attracted to the caring ethos of a small school  which in the words of Ofsted "has a caring atmosphere where pupils feel safe, secure and valued.  Pupils and adults know each other well as individuals.  This is a strong feature of the school.  Due to the teachers' deep knowledge of each pupil, they are able to provide a high level of support and guidance".

The present school opened in 1895 and became a first school following the re-organisation in the early 1970's.
The building was extended in 1997 to provide three large classrooms and hall. More recently, in 2003, the playground area was redeveloped to provide a soft surface with a range of adventure style equipment.

Pupils normally transfer to Ryecroft C.E. Middle School, Rocester at nine years of age and move to Thomas Alleyne's High School, Uttoxeter at thirteen years.
At St Peter's CE (A) First School Christian values underpin all that we do and aim to achieve.  Through honesty, respect, courtesy and fairness we aim to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural and social development of all our pupils through the curriculum and other experiences.
