The children hosted over 60's residents of Alton in school for a chat, tea and cake. The children were excellent hosts and our neighbours fully enjoyed the afternoon. The children learnt a lot about the history of the school from those who had attended here in their childhood - open fires in the classrooms - imagine the health and safety implications today!! They also learnt a lot about how the village was affected during the war which fitted in well with the current Key Stage 2 topic. Our visitors had a good look round the classrooms and joined in some craft activities while chatting with the children. This is an event to be repeated in the near future.
